Dera Ismail Khan West (DIK West)

D.I.K-West (3170-11) Block is situated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, spreading over an area of 311 Square Kilometers. Geologically the Block is situated in Kohat-Bannu basin of Pakistan, a highly prospective zone as delineated by DG Petroleum Concession. In order to assess the full potential of the block, OKTA technical team has carried out detailed evaluation on available data before bid document submission.

Four sub-surface structures have been mapped with area calculation of each structure for resource estimation of the block. Off-set wells data interpretation was carried out to evaluate potential reservoir in the block i.e., Saviragha-01 &, Afiband-01 suggests that there are multiple reservoirs producing in the surroundings with proven petroleum system in the area.

The Block is surrounded by gas discoveries of Savi Ragha, Dhodak, and Afiband gas fields with the recent and nearest discovery of Wali-01 in Wali Block of OGDCL located just north of D.I. Khan West Block making the block prospectivity higher. Confirmation of presence of hydrocarbons in this area has de-risked the exploration and chances of a new discovery are high.
