Block 28 North

Block-28 North is situated in Balochistan Province, spreading over an area of 637 Square Kilometers. The Block is situated in the Central Indus Basin of Pakistan, a highly prospective zone as delineated by DG Petroleum Concession. The Block-28 North was evaluated in detail before bid document submission, Seismic data interpretation on the available seismic data resulted in three well defined structural leads within the block. Off-set wells data interpretation of Zarghun south-01 & 02, Dabbar-01 data analysis suggests that there are multiple reservoirs producing in the surroundings with proven petroleum system in the area.

The Block is surrounded by gas discoveries of Zarghun south-01, Zarghun south-02, Jandran-X-01 wells. Two wells are drilled recently in 2020 and 2021 by the name of Lakhirud X-01 and Jandran X-04 as gas discoveries by OGDCL in vicinity of Block-28 North making the area highly prospective and attractive for investors. The confirmation of presence of hydrocarbons in this area has de-risked the exploration and Block-28 North is expected to be 1/10th the size of Sui Field. Successful discovery of Block-28 North will positively contribute in mitigating energy demand and supply gap from indigenous resources.
